Okalan 8 color matte eyeshadow palette review

These days, it’s quite hard to find nice eyeshadow palettes that won’t hurt the pockets that’s why when I do, I don’t even dare thinking twice! I get it right away! I’ll be honest! I’m a beginner when it comes to eyeshadows! Personally, I know that I suck at mixing and matching colors and blending them together. I’m still learning that’s why I decided that I would start investing in some palettes! I mean, a makeup look isn’t really a makeup look without an eyeshadow, right?

I love discovering brands that produce great quality products for a very affordable price so when I came across this brand called Okalan, I was intrigued! So of course, even though I didn’t know anything about the brand and this palette, I bought it. The packaging itself was eye-catcher.

Apparently, this palette is a dupe for the Lime Crime Venus palette 2 which I think is true! See photo below!

Now, don’t you agree? I don’t have the Lime Crime palette but by looking at the swatches, I just don’t see any difference! Plus, it’s so obvious that Okalan blatantly copied Lime Crime because of the shade names!

The packaging is just the usual cardboard with a magnet so you can easily close it but what I like about it is that it has a mirror unlike other palettes out there! This one’s small and handy so it is very travel friendly! Have I mention how nice the design is? It is, indeed, an eye-catcher!

And the color selection! Oooh boy! The mustard made me buy this palette TBH! I was supposed to get a yellow colourpop single shadow but then I thought P350.00 for a single eyeshadow isn’t worth it! Luckily, I found this! I just knew I had to get it! I’m a beginner so I usually stick with neutral-warm colored eyeshadows but I’ve been experimenting lately so this palette is also a really great addition to my growing collection! I’m so eager to play with colors!

I was blown away when I swatched them! The pigment is just… wow. I didn’t expect a very intense pigment from a cheap palette but it proved me wrong! The color pay off is amazing! I’m not even kidding!

Now, I just want more Okalan palettes. I really am impressed with this palette. I mean, just look at the swatches! Need I say more? And as far as I know, it doesn’t have any fallout! Nope, it’s not powdery or chunky at all and I didn’t have a hard time blending it too!

I got this eyeshadow palette from Angeline Buna’s shop/facebook group for P550.00! I know, so inexpensive right?!

This is the makeup look that I have been itching to do! I’ve been watching a lot of makeup tutorials on Youtube and I am so obsessed with the yellow eyeshadow look!

I just added a glittery eyeshadow on top so it has a little bit of dimension.

All in all, I am so glad I came across this brand. I love the quality of their products and I’ll definitely be purchasing more from this brand in the future!

By the way, I uploaded a one-minute tutorial for this look as an entry for SM Mall of Asia’s Beauty Vlogger Contest! If you wanna see how I did it, I’ll be leaving the link below!
